It's been three weeks since my return from the other side of the world. Malaysia. What can I say, the experience has really altered my perspective on people, food, life, nature - even insects! The country is absolutely beautiful with it's lush jungles, breath taking skyscapes and vast china sea. kept a journal while on my journey and I would like to share with you some excerpts from it:

August 13 - 9:43 pst
Before the flight



Four hours before the flight. I'm all packed and ready to go as I'm sitting here watching my good friends Vani & Ask run about their home getting their things ready as they will be joining me on this journey I'm about to take. I'm excited and can't wait to get on this plane. I have no idea what exactly this trip will entail other than some locations & activities that are on the itinerary that Vani's uncle Selva (He lives in Kajung, Malaysia) has given us. The not knowningness makes for more feeling of adventure and a childlike excitement that has me beaming with joy. The flight will be 18 hours so I packed lots of reaing material but I have a feeling I will probably be doing a lot of sleeping. It's interesting to be in this moment now considering a couple of weeks ago I dreaded waking up for work the next day and not I am on unemployment (laid off) and on my way to the other side of the world with no idea of what I will do when I come back other than that I will be taking an extended hiatus from the good ol 9-5 lifestyle. Painting and relaxing sound like something I'd rather do for the next few months anyway. Looks like it's time to go...
